GETTING TO THE HEART OF WHAT MATTERS

Facilitator: John Foley

John Foley is from eastern Newfoundland, and provides workshops and training through his organization MindPatch Metta Station. He has completed the two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program led by renown clinical psychologists, mindfulness meditation instructors and international authors Jack Kornfield (jackkornfield.com) and Tara Brach (tarabrach.com).

This retreat into our heart spaces offers an opportunity for a more detailed exploration of the heart opening practices of self-acceptance, forgiveness, gratitude and loving kindness (Metta). Getting to the Heart of What Matters will provide a guided, safe and understanding space to deepen an ongoing heart practice, recognize barriers to our personal spiritual growth and to immerse ourselves in Metta.

During our time together at the Tree of Life, we will be reviewing several practical practices that can bring more
moments of peace, contentment, kindness and generosity into your life. These practices can easily be incorporated into your daily routine.

There will also be time for journaling, reflective nature walks/hikes and question and answer periods. To ensure your
comfort during the retreat, please bring along meditation cushions or benches, yoga mats and a blanket or shawl and
water bottle if you have them.
