We invite you to join us at Tree of Life for our next Enlightenment Intensive retreat during Litha, the Summer Solstice

This sacred gathering will take place from June 18 – 22, 2026 offering four days of immersion in Truth, silence, and awakening.

To walk this path is to take a courageous step into the unknown—to pierce through the surface of thought, emotion, and belief, and see beyond the conventions that shape ordinary life. In this space of stillness and inquiry, Spirit reveals itself.

You are invited to surrender the noise of the world, rest deeply in the present moment, and discover the aliveness that has always been within you. It takes both wildness and devotion to engage in this work—and yet, what awaits is beyond measure: the remembrance of who you truly are.

JULY

Facilitator: Whit Hornsberger
Length: 5 days
Group size: maximum 18

In this five-day meditation retreat, practitioners will apply the ancient method of vipassanā meditation, cultivating insight into the true nature of all psychophysical phenomena, reawakening the innate state of mental and spiritual seclusion known as viveka and resulting in the systematic eradication of suffering (dukkha)

This meditation journey will integrate the practice of metta (loving-kindness) meditation with the traditional and potent vipassanā methodology of the revered Burmese master Mahāsi Sayadaw, as passed down to Whit over his 16 years of study and practice within the Buddhist tradition, including intensive monastic experiences in Mahāsi Sayadaw’s monastery in Rangoon, Burma.

Metta (loving-kindness) is often considered a prerequisite to vipassanā meditation, and through personal experience Whit holds it in high regard as a fundamental component of the path towards liberating insight.
